Roderick Kiracofe on fashion & edgy quilts in the New York Times

Much attention is being paid to a recent Calvin Klein advertisement featuring the Kardashian-Jenner sisters on a red and white quilt. Quilts are finding themselves on the catwalk and in the stores of Paris and New York.

For Mr. Kiracofe, the fashion world’s embrace of quilts is long overdue. ‘Quilts have been ghettoized or boxed in as women’s work or “Americana,”‘ he said. ‘To see them get a little more edgy, it’s important.’
